The following are the results for the 2004 U.S. Open Judo Championship held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Nearly 300 athletes from 28 countries competed in the two day event which was hosted by USA Judo.

As one component of emotion regulation, display rules, which reflect the regulation of expressive behavior, have been the topic of many studies.  Despite their theoretical and empirical importance, however, to date there is no measure of display rules that assesses a full range of behavioral responses that are theoretically possible when emotion is elicited.  This article reports the development of a new measure of display rules that surveys five expressive modes: Expression, Deamplification, Amplification, Qualification, and Masking.  Two studies provide evidence for its internal and temporal reliability, and for its content, convergent, discriminant, external, concurrent predictive validity....

The following are the results for the 2004 USA Judo National Championships held at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, University of San Diego, San Diego, California.  Over 300 athletes from all over the United State competed in the event which is the final event before selection of athletes for the Olympic Team Trial.  The event was hosted by California State Judo, Inc. and the San Diego International Sports Council.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Forty-one Olympic and Pan American sport organizations have named their 2003 National, Developmental and/or Volunteer Coaches of the Year as part of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Coach of the Year recognition program. The five finalists in the National and Developmental categories and the winner of the USOC Volunteer Coach of the Year title will be honored May 1-3 at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Complex. The USOC National Coach of the Year and USOC Developmental Coach of the Year will be announced during a May 2 dinner at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs.

(February, 20, 2004) - The following is the Roster for the Judo Otto World Cup 2004 (German Open Super-A event) to be held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-22, at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany.  This event is the last Super-A event of the season in Europe.  Super-A status is gien to the Moscow, Paris, and German Opens because these events have a degree of difficulty equivalent to that of the World Championships and Olympic Games.
